First of all, most of us got to work today because of the products produced by those nasty oil companies.
Second, the mantra from Washington is that oil companies should not receive about $4 bilion/annually in tax incentives that are embedded in the federal tax code.
The second part of the sentence that remains unsaid is oil companies pay about $100 billion/annually in royalties to the federal government. That’s $96 billion net to the feds.
I say lets get serious and eliminate all subsidies or anything that smacks of favorable treatment such as subsidies for agriculture, ethanol, green energy, oil, and dozens of other industries.
